The Joy of Making New Friends

Wednesday, June 17th, 2009

One of most exciting things about Speak Rwanda is the new friends we’ve begun to make through the development and release of Speak Rwanda Basic, the Kinyarwanda travel language audio download lessons. What we are beginning to realize is that there are incredible stories of faith and love being written between the lives of Rwandans and ourselves here in the States.

One new friend is Michelle Schmidt who is traveling for the first time to Rwanda today June 17, 2009 with a group from her church as well as individuals from around the region. She’s the official trip blogger for the team and is a gifted writer. Michelle also possesses a unique God-given, heartfelt love for Rwanda and her new friends there.

Check out both of her blogs to see and hear how the team is getting along as well as her story regarding Rwanda.

Kinyarwanda is Confounding!

Wednesday, June 3rd, 2009

I have to confess that trying to learn Kinyarwanda makes me feel dumb!
Kinyarwanda is a really hard language!!!

Let’s just confess this problem and get it out of the way right now.  So
if practicing Kinyarwanda makes you feel not very smart, you are not
alone!!!   But stick with it!

I got A’s in college using flash cards, so I made a set of flash cards
using 200 words from our 1,000 word Kinyarwanda dictionary that we are
about to publish.  I’ve been using these flash cards the past  two days,
and I’ve already added about 10 words to my vocabulary.

You can download the flash cards and print them yourself from our product
page.  http://www.speakrwanda.com/products.html

GO FOR IT!!!  DON’T GIVE UP!!!!
