The Joy of Making New Friends

One of most exciting things about Speak Rwanda is the new friends we’ve begun to make through the development and release of Speak Rwanda Basic, the Kinyarwanda travel language audio download lessons. What we are beginning to realize is that there are incredible stories of faith and love being written between the lives of Rwandans and ourselves here in the States.

One new friend is Michelle Schmidt who is traveling for the first time to Rwanda today June 17, 2009 with a group from her church as well as individuals from around the region. She’s the official trip blogger for the team and is a gifted writer. Michelle also possesses a unique God-given, heartfelt love for Rwanda and her new friends there.

Check out both of her blogs to see and hear how the team is getting along as well as her story regarding Rwanda.

      Hello,

I just found your wonderful site by the grace of God, and small gifts that only God can give. I looked up the very phrase, “The Joy of Making New Friends,” in Google. Someone looked up that very phrase in an internet search from Pakistan and found my lighthearted blog written through the eyes of my mini schnauzer Pixel. The latest entry is entitled “The Joy of Making New Friends” and the person left a very kind message. You can see the blog at http://www.pixelblueeyes.blogspot.com. I wanted to see what people would find with that phrase besides my blog, and I found your site.
What a wonderful ministry you have! I am sure you have received so many heartfelt blessings for this undertaking. What a joy you brought to my heart with the efforts you all have made in sharing the language of Rwanda with others. The exchange of love and God’s grace must be immense. I loved how you expressed how important personal interaction in their language is and what it means. It was a real blessing to me and I thank you! May we all do our part to share the right reflection of the Lord in all we do, both small and large.
